Driven by a commitment to true care, ElderNest was established in order to decentralize healthcare control and return autonomy to patients and caregivers. ElderNest integrates proactive education with strategic aging plans, allowing families to establish care frameworks before a crisis occurs. By leveraging a network of elite, compassionate industry experts who have transitioned out of traditional institutional roles, ElderNest equips communities with the infrastructure, confidence, and sophisticated advocacy required to support an aging community.
Our Founder
Aislinn A. Smith is a seasoned healthcare executive, and entrepreneur with over a decade of leadership experience directing skilled nursing operations and senior care advocacy initiatives.
A native of Hyde Park, New York, Aislinn established her business sense within her family’s enterprise, Smith Environmental Laboratory, and her partnership business, Hyde Park Dance Arts before pursuing her degrees at Johnson & Wales University. After graduating Summa Cum Laude with a degree in healthcare administration, she became a licensed nursing home administrator. Her diverse executive background also includes a highly successful twelve-year tenure as an award-winning multi-unit franchisee, owning and operating Edible Arrangements locations in Kingston and Poughkeepsie, New York.
Aislinn’s strategic vision for senior care has been formed by profound personal and professional experiences. She navigated the complex care required by her father, who passed away in a skilled nursing facility, and supported her mother through a six year period of home-based care during her younger brother’s battle with cancer. Professionally, her leadership was exemplified on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, where she successfully directed a number of New York State facilities.
These experiences exposed systemic failures within the current healthcare landscape. Specifically labor shortages, ownership conflicts of interest, administrative friction, reimbursement constraints, and insurance controls that compromise care delivery.
ElderNest was created to return the natural aspect of human care to communities, reduce ageism and provide hope in a sanctuary we have created for caregivers.
